Game Tip

Use the AI Menu Setting for Multiple Actions

Lunar the Silver Star (Sega CD)

After reading in the Magazine Coverage about the AI feature of Lunar the Silver Star, I started doing some more research. When I play it, I don’t use it.

However, there is a setting that may make you consider it. During the fights there is an AI option that defers to the game engine to perform the attacks. You can do it for the entire party or for individual characters. In the menu, you can control what actions the computer is able to do when AI is turned on. There are two toggles:

  • Magic Use - No AI / AI
  • Tool Use - No AI / AI

This appears to do very little when using the AI feature, but it does have a neat effect. If you turn on the Magic Use - AI for a character, then proceed to cast a spell the character will use its remaining attacks to attack the enemies. It’s best to use with Alex who typically has 2 attacks, but later in the game, gets a third one. With a boss, you can have Alex cast a Dragon spell and then he proceeds to do unleash two powerful attacks with his sword!
